Managing Conflict
Therapy for couples who can’t seem to stop or start fighting.
Conflict (n).mental struggle resulting from incompatible or opposing needs, drives, wishes, or external or internal demands.
Does it feel like all you and your partner ever do is fight? Or perhaps, eerily never fight at all? Both are scenarios in which therapy can be extremely helpful.
My goal as a therapist is not to eliminate conflict from your relationship. In fact, I want my couples to fight. Fighting in a healthy way helps to create intimacy, learn more about your partner, and build a deeper understanding of one another.
Therapy can help to move through conflict in a way that boosts your relationship, rather than tearing it down. Learning how to fight in a healthy way is an essential skill in facing the inevitable ups and downs life has to offer.
